Mentoring changes a young person’s life because it brings out their gifts. Once they find their gifts, they discover how to succeed. A mentor helps keep them on a path following their dreams. Because of this, early intervention has been recognized as a highly effective way of addressing the living circumstances that can lead kids into difficult situations. Mentoring guides young people out of these situations.
Being a volunteer mentor with KidStart, doesn’t require special skills, just common sense and a positive attitude. It means spending a couple hours each week of your time. You will be helping young people grow, thrive and connect with the community they call home.
