KIDSTART KIDS BENEFIT FROM $12,000 IN EVENT TICKETS! Vancouver, BC
PLEA Community Services KidStart Mentoring program helps kids in need which is why they were one of the organizations chosen by KIDS UP FRONT Foundation to receive more than $12,000 worth of free event tickets over the past year!
The announcement was made yesterday at a partnership appreciation event hosted by Kids Up Front. $12,000 amounts to 616 free tickets that have allowed KidStart kids to attend everything from Giant's Hockey, Whitecaps Soccer and BC Lion??s Football games to Vancouver Symphony, ballet and live theatre performances, concerts, Cirque du Soleil and special performances for children at the Chan Centre for Performing Arts and Granville Island! Long time KidStart volunteer mentor and Coordinator of Volunteers, Hala Nugent said, "Kids Up Front has been invaluable for KidStart! For a lot of our kids some of these events are a once in a lifetime experience and for volunteer mentors it's wonderful to be able to share the joy and excitement associated with attending a big budget production or professional sporting event!"
KidStart supports 175 volunteers mentoring kids age 6+ who are experiencing difficulties in their lives that leave them vulnerable and at-risk of getting in trouble.
Kids Up Front provides entertainment and educational opportunities to kids in need and their families through the distribution of unused tickets to special events — "providing a sense of discovery, dreams and possibilities — one ticket at a time."
